Yesterday was one of those days where I had some time to kill, so I stayed in town and did some wandering. My final destination was Montana de Oro. I love the trees.

I decided to take a walk to see if I could get a shot from above the beach this time. It was a short hike but I knew I'd just go out far enough to get the shots I was looking for and then head back. It was looking to be a very pretty trail.

The view of the coast was beautiful. I got as close as I could ... I possibly could have gone closer but the warning sign was holding me back. :)

On my way out my focus was getting to the coastline. But on my way back I was focusing more on the details of what was on the path.

There were so many other pretty things to see ...

And then ... I was so glad that I was focusing on the path ... I never expected to see a rattlesnake!

I took a couple of quick shots {with my camera of course!}. Waited a bit until I got up the courage to quickly walk past the area it crossed my path ... and then I was safe on the road again.
